WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A member of billionaire Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency allegedly screamed and demanded 36-hours of straight work to process Thursday’s mass firings at the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, an agency employee said in a sworn statement on Friday.
“DOGE member Gavin Kliger…kept the team up for 36 hours straight to ensure that the notices would go out yesterday,” according to the statement submitted in federal court by a CFPB employee using a pseudonym out of fear of retaliation.
“Gavin was screaming at people he did not believe were working fast enough to ensure they could go out on this compressed timeline, calling them incompetent.”
