WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Tuesday he could envision a scenario where Nvidia’s advanced Blackwell chips can be sold to China and other countries as technology evolves and better chips are made.
“There may be a case down the road – I don’t know whether it’s 12 or 24 months, given the incredible innovation that goes on at Nvidia -, where the Blackwell chips may be two, three, four (levels) down their chip stack in terms of efficacy,” Bessent said in an interview with CNBC. “And at that point, they could be sold off.”
